What is Social Studio?
Social Studio is an easy-to-use, online video editing tool that helps you create videos for social media, your website, or anything! There are no specialized tools to learn, and you don’t need video editing experience to get started. Try it here.
What is a template?
A “template” is a term used in a variety of industries to describe a partially fleshed-out blueprint, or a basic guide for a project. In the Social Studio product, a template includes all the pre-assembled elements -- footage or image (background video or photo), titles (text), graphics, and music -- that comprise a complete video project. (More here)
Can I customize a template?
Sure! Think of our templates as creative idea-starters. You’re free to use as much of the pre-assembled work as you like. Or, you can replace some -- or even all! -- of the elements in order to tell your story.
What is a collection?
Can I use my own videos or photos?
Yes! You can upload and edit your own videos and photos. We accept the following:
- Videos: Up to one minute long. Up to 100mb in size (learn how to determine the size of a video file on your computer). We accept MP4 and MOV files.
- Photos (including logos): We accept PNG and JPG files.
I don’t have any good videos. Can I still use your editor?
We provide a library with 400,000+ professionally produced videos and photos. (Yes, you can make a video from a photo!) As a subscriber, you’re allowed to use any of these assets. Just log in to the editor, select 'Change Video' in the left-hand navigation, and search for the footage that helps tell your story.
Is there a watermark?
When you’re working inside the editor with one of our background videos or photos, you will see a “POND5” watermark. However, when you export your project, we remove that watermark. In other words, your exported video will not show a “POND5” watermark.
How long can a video be?
You can export a video up to 60 seconds long.
What kind of subscriptions do you offer?
We have two subscription options: a monthly subscription and a yearly subscription. (You can see them both here.) Both subscription options include the same features and the same complementary video/photo library. The difference is that if you pay for the yearly subscription, you get a 50% discount compared to if you pay for the monthly subscription for 12 consecutive months. In other words, the yearly subscription is a much better value -- but you have to pay in advance for the entire year. Both subscription options offer a 7-day free trial (see below).
How does payment work? Is there a free trial?
By signing up with your email or Facebook account, you’re free to explore the editor as much as you like: play with our animations and transitions; experiment with fonts and filters; switch out video/photo assets; and browse our complimentary music tracks. When you download your finished video, we will ask for payment details and begin your subscription. When you start your subscription, you enter into a 7-day trial period, where you can continue to explore the editor AND export videos. We want you to be comfortable with our tools. If you're not completely happy, you can cancel any time during that 7-day trial period, and we won't charge you. To pay for subscriptions, we support standard debit/credit cards, as well as PayPal. (More detail about subscriptions in our license agreement.)
Can I get a refund?
We provide a generous 7-day window to explore -- for free! -- all the features inside the editor and to export videos. Once your free trial is over, you can cancel your subscription at any time (see below), but unfortunately, we can’t provide a refund.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Of course, we hope you don’t want to, but … click your name in the upper-right hand corner of the website; from the dropdown, select “Billing”; on the page that appears, click the “Cancel subscription” link. If you’re still in the 7-day free trial, you can continue to use the editor and export videos until your free trial ends. If you’re a paying subscriber, you can continue to use the editor and export videos until your normal subscription window ends.
I’ve already created an account. How do I log in?
You can create an account with Social Studio in two ways: (1) you can provide an email and create a password; or (2) you can create an account using the blue “signup with Facebook” button. If you create an account using your email, you must always log in using your email. Similarly, if you create an account using Facebook, you must always log in using Facebook. If you don’t remember your password, click the “forgot your password” link on the sign-in screen, and we’ll send you an email with instructions for resetting your password.
Do you have an app?
We have an iOS app that supports on-the-go editing. Do more with your projects by syncing them with our existing web editor, and sharing them instantly to Instagram and Facebook.
Can I add multiple videos or photos to a single project?
Right now, you can only add a single video or photo to a project. However, we are working on this functionality now.
My video has audio already. Can I keep that audio on the video file?
We don’t support “native audio” at this time.
Can I add more than one logo to a single video project?
We don’t support multiple logos in a single project at this time.
Can I adjust the music so it ends at the same time as the video?
Our music files and video files are not all the same exact length, so sometimes the music doesn’t end at the same exact time as the video.
I have other questions OR I have a feature request. What should I do?
Feel free to email email@example.com with a detailed description, and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible.
