Possibly dumb question, but can I take out a part of an AE file once I buy and download it. For example...I want to buy an AE file of a hand writing something out, but I want an empty background and not the red lower third that comes with it. Is this editable?

This will depend on the AE template itself, but most file descriptions generally tell us what is included and not included in the template, such as music and images, or weather colors are customisable.
